sub11 Endurance Training

sub11 Endurance Training is an online coaching service and platform run by IMU certified triathlon coach Rashed AlNaber. Training protocols are customized to cater to every athlete’s individual preferences and goals; whether you are an age group athlete looking to simply finish a specific race or a competitive athlete looking to improve in specific disciplines.

The training program is not exclusively available to athletes interested in Ironman triathlon but also to all endurance athletes training for duathlons, cycling events, mountain biking events, trail running events and ultra marathons.

The approach is simple: after assessing your athletic history, fitness level and average weekly schedule, we will set realistic fitness goals and start building towards them. The actual training schedule is uploaded on a software called TrainingPeaks where we can monitor quantitative data on your performance levels, progress, improvement areas and development potentials. We can comment on and discuss matters through available communication channels such as video calls, text messages, emails or anything the athlete prefers.

Some of the 2024 races that sub11 Endurance Training athletes are registered for are the IM70.3 Aix-en-Provence, France, IM70.3 Westfriesland, Netherlands, IM Kärnten-Klagenfurt, Austria and IM Cascais, Portugal.

Rashed coached for me for first IM70.3 for several months. My experience of working with him has been very pleasant and I can't recommend him high enough. Here are some reasons why:

    1) You are in safe hands. Throughout our work together, Rashed focused on injury prevention more than anything else. He kept a close eye on my perceptions after work outs and adjusted the training program accordingly. For example, shortly after starting running, I started feeling discomfort in my knees. Rashed immediately placed running workouts on hold and introduced strengthening exercises to correct muscle imbalances instead. We only got back to running after making sure that the issue has been overcome.

    2) Rashed will help you improve your technique. He is knowledgable and experienced in identifying possible problems and suggesting ways to make them go away. For example, while monitoring my cycling performance metrics, Rashed spotted in-efficiencies in cadence patterns. He suggested various drills which yielded noticeable improvements.

    3) The training program is well rounded and covers all fitness aspects in a holistic way. Some workouts focus on strength. Others on distance, technique, speed, recovery or just picking up activity load. Each day is different. You will not be bored!

    4) Rashed generously shares practical tips gained from his vast racing experience around the world. Topics like nutrition, recovery before, during and after workouts, equipment setup and ergonomics, best practices during transitions, even basic bike mechanics skills are covered in detail.

    5) Rashed is caring and supportive. He has excellent communication skills. He loves the sport and understands the ups and downs of race preparation journey. He knows when to push you for an extra mile and when to give you a rest day. By teaming up with him, you will be tapping into a valuable source of knowledge and experience that would otherwise take years to develop.

I finished my first IM 70.3 with Rashed in 5:45, This was great, but this was also unbelievably smooth, I will list below some of the things that made me feel grateful after we finished and during.

1- I had agitated ankles at some point, he walked me through the recovery process with ease, he told me to trust the process, and we did pass successfully.

2- He is solid with his opinions because he is widely knowledgeable, he would just tell you what works or not, not like other coaches he stay away from taking responsibility and keep telling you its a personal choice and read it about it Bla Bla Bla, I work 50 hours a week, I am training a lot, I am sore and tired, just tell me what you think is right for god sake, Rashed just did.

3- There was a lot of times I wasn't on the plan, took me back to it easily, Pure mental skills.

4- I decided to do an Olympic distance race a month before the IM race, he was like what the hell, we are doing this for fun and didn't make changing plans Hell.

5- I never met him, but I found a friend whom I can tell anything in my personal life when I am talking about my training plan, and he made it easy.

6- He has some crazy tips about recovery and nutrition, and they work. I overachieved my target with no drama, I like Rashed.

sub11 Endurance Training has been instrumental in my sports journey. With the guidance and support of coach Rashed, I was able to run my first half marathon; a very tough marathon, which is Petra Desert Marathon. I had no running experience, and in a matter of 4 months, I gradually improved from not being able to run 3 kilometers non-stop, to running long distances and enjoying the sport of running. Running is now a big part of my life, and it positively affects my well-being and health. Coach Rashed provided guidance and coaching on all aspects of running, from form and mechanics to nutrition and most importantly the psychology of winning.

Rashed guided me and coached me for my Dead2Red cycling race (200km cycling race from the Dead sea to Aqaba) in 2019 and helped me gain noticeable improvements in performance and endurance through detailed and comprehensive training schedule and followup including nutrition, techniques and motivation. He is highly knowledgeable and has great experience in the field. He is also helping me now in preparing and training for this year's race and I couldn't be happier to have such an amazing coach to guide me through it.
